  • Your 10 essentials kit should be kept in a small, convenient package and should go with you on every outing...from a short day hike to an extended backpack...along with a water bottle & rain gear.
  • Save items such as the emergency candle, the emergency blanket and the water purification tablets FOR EMERGENCIES!  Carry a spare candle for everyday use.
    - The emergency blanket is a challenge to refold once opened and water purification tablets begin to deteriorate once the bottle is opened.  Boil or filter drinking water for everyday use.
  • Never cut your 50' line unlesss absolutely necessary or you will wind up replacing it on every trip.  Simply use what you need and tie off the slack.
